AI as an operating advantage—not a slogan

0 min read
Every company now claims an AI strategy. Fewer can explain where it improves decisions, margins, or customer outcomes in concrete terms.
Usefulness over spectacle
At Egger & Co, AI is treated as an operating advantage across the group: better forecasting, faster analysis, sharper product loops, and support functions that scale without losing quality. The goal is not to announce models. The goal is to change how work gets done.
That requires data discipline, clear ownership, and restraint. Tools that create noise are expensive. Tools that compress time-to-judgment are valuable.
Across the portfolio
Different businesses need different applications—content systems in media, demand and pricing intelligence in hospitality, product analytics in software, decision support in investments. Shared learning helps, but implementation stays close to operators who understand the domain.
The standard
If an AI initiative cannot name the workflow it improves and the metric it should move, it is not ready for capital or attention. Ambition is welcome. Vague ambition is not.
